Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Westminster Welcome

Arrive at London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport. Your guide will meet you in Arrivals and transfer you to your centrally located hotel. After check-in and time to freshen up, enjoy a gentle evening walking tour of Westminster – see the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Bridge, and Big Ben beautifully illuminated against the evening sky. Welcome briefing from your guide over dinner (own expense).

Day 2: Tower of London & Tower Bridge

After breakfast, travel to the Tower of London – one of the world's most famous fortresses, founded by William the Conqueror in 1066. Your Yeoman Warder guide brings the Tower's dramatic history to life – royal prisoners, executions, medieval torture, and the dazzling Crown Jewels. After lunch (own expense), walk across the iconic Tower Bridge with optional access to the glass floor walkway for vertiginous views over the Thames.

Day 3: Buckingham Palace & Royal London

Walk to Buckingham Palace to witness the ceremonial Changing of the Guard – one of London's most spectacular free spectacles. Stroll through St James's Park and Green Park. Afternoon at the magnificent Victoria and Albert Museum – the world's greatest decorative arts museum, with collections spanning 5,000 years of human creativity. Free entry. Evening at leisure.

Day 4: British Museum & Bloomsbury

A full morning at the extraordinary British Museum – your expert guide leads a 2-hour highlights tour taking in the Rosetta Stone, the Elgin Marbles, the Sutton Hoo Helmet, and the Egyptian Mummy collection. The afternoon is free to explore independently or join a guided walk through the literary streets of Bloomsbury – neighbourhood of Virginia Woolf, Charles Dickens, and the Pre-Raphaelites.

Day 5: Greenwich & Maritime Heritage

Take the Thames Clipper river boat downstream to Greenwich – home of time itself. Visit the magnificent Royal Observatory, stand astride the Prime Meridian (0° longitude), and explore the extraordinary Cutty Sark – the world's only surviving tea clipper. Stunning views of the London skyline from the hilltop park. Return by boat or train.

Day 6: Kensington & Hyde Park

Morning at Kensington Palace – former home of Princess Diana and still a working royal residence, with rooms open to the public revealing royal history from the Georgian era to the present day. Walk through the Diana Memorial Garden. Afternoon strolling through Hyde Park, discovering the Serpentine Gallery and the Albert Memorial. Optional evening treat: a performance in the West End.

Day 7: Free Morning & Departure

Final morning at complete leisure – perhaps a final visit to a market (Borough Market, Columbia Road Flower Market, Portobello Road), last-minute shopping on Oxford Street, or simply a coffee in a traditional London café watching the city go by. Your guide will transfer you to the airport in time for your departure flight. Au revoir, London – until next time!
