Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Belfast

Arrive at Belfast International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in the vibrant city centre. Evening guided walk through the Cathedral Quarter – Belfast's creative heart, with independent bars, restaurants, street art, and the historic St Anne's Cathedral. Your guide provides an introduction to Belfast's complex and fascinating history. Optional evening in one of the Cathedral Quarter's celebrated bars.

Day 2: Belfast City – Titanic & Political History

Full-day guided exploration of Belfast. Morning at the magnificent Titanic Belfast Museum – the world's largest Titanic visitor experience, built on the very slipway where the ship was constructed. Nine immersive galleries tell the story of the ship's design, construction, launch, voyage, and sinking. Afternoon political tour of the Falls and Shankill Roads, exploring the remarkable peaceline murals that document Belfast's divided history with raw power and vivid artistry.

Day 3: Giant's Causeway & Antrim Coast

Drive the breathtaking Antrim Coastal Road – one of Europe's most dramatic coastal drives. Reach the legendary Giant's Causeway – a UNESCO World Heritage Site of approximately 40,000 interlocking basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity. Your guide explains both the geological reality and the far more entertaining legend of the giant Fionn Mac Cumhaill. Visit the ruined Dunluce Castle – perched impossibly on a basalt outcrop above the crashing sea.

Day 4: Carrick-a-Rede & Dark Hedges

Cross the swaying Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge – suspended 30m above the sea between the mainland and a tiny rocky island used for centuries by salmon fishermen. A thrilling and beautiful experience (not suitable for those with severe vertigo). Drive to the magical Dark Hedges – a tunnel of ancient beech trees planted in the 18th century, made internationally famous as the Kingsroad in Game of Thrones. Visit Ballintoy Harbour – another Game of Thrones location, now as beautiful as it is photogenic.

Day 5: Derry/Londonderry – Walled City

Drive west to Derry/Londonderry – the only substantially intact walled city in Ireland, and one of the finest examples of a planned 17th-century city in the world. Walk the complete circuit of the 17th-century city walls with your guide, enjoying views over the Bogside below. Visit the extraordinary Bogside murals – "Free Derry" and the People's Gallery – depicting the civil rights movement and the events of Bloody Sunday. The Museum of Free Derry provides a moving and informative account.

Day 6: Mourne Mountains & Strangford Lough

Drive south to the magnificent Mourne Mountains – the inspiration for C.S. Lewis's Narnia landscapes. Walk in the dramatic granite uplands with their distinctive dry-stone Mourne Wall. Visit Strangford Lough – a vast tidal sea inlet with over 70% of all species of marine life found in the British Isles. Explore Castle Ward, the National Trust estate used as Winterfell in Game of Thrones, and its beautiful parkland on the lough shore.

Day 7: Lough Erne & Departure

Morning boat trip on the tranquil Lough Erne in County Fermanagh – a vast freshwater lake dotted with over 150 islands, including ancient monastic sites with stone carvings predating Christianity. Transfer to Belfast Airport with extraordinary memories of one of the UK's most compelling and beautiful destinations. Slán abhaile – safe home!
