Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Glasgow

Arrive at Glasgow International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in the city centre. Afternoon walk along the River Clyde waterfront and through the elegant West End. Welcome briefing over dinner at a traditional Scottish restaurant. Taste your first real Scottish food – cullen skink, haggis, and cranachan.

Day 2: Loch Lomond & The Trossachs

Drive north into the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park – Scotland's first national park and just one hour from Glasgow. Walk along the shores of Loch Lomond, visit the village of Luss, and explore the wooded peninsula of Balmaha. Afternoon at Doune Castle – used in Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Game of Thrones. Overnight in Pitlochry.

Day 3: Pitlochry to Inverness

Morning walk through the Pass of Killiecrankie – scene of a dramatic 1689 Jacobite victory, with stunning gorge scenery. Visit the magnificent Blair Castle – the only private army in Europe can be raised here. Continue north through the dramatic Drumochter Pass into the Highlands proper. Arrive in Inverness – the capital of the Highlands.

Day 4: Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle

Full day exploring the legendary Loch Ness – 37km long, 230m deep, and home to 2,000 years of monster stories. Take a Loch Ness cruise complete with sonar equipment scanning the depths. Explore the atmospheric ruins of Urquhart Castle perched on the loch shore. Visit the Loch Ness Centre for the full story of the Nessie phenomenon.

Day 5: Glencoe & Ben Nevis

Drive south through the Great Glen to the haunting beauty of Glencoe – site of the infamous 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan. Walk through the Three Sisters valley with your guide for the full emotional and geological story. Afternoon at Glen Nevis – the beautiful valley beneath Britain's highest mountain. Option to walk towards Ben Nevis base (full summit walk is an optional extra day).

Day 6: Isle of Skye

Cross the Skye Bridge to the mystical Isle of Skye – one of Scotland's most dramatic and evocative islands. Visit the Old Man of Storr – an extraordinary pinnacle of volcanic rock rising above a hidden loch. Swim or paddle in the magical Fairy Pools – crystal-clear turquoise mountain pools fed by waterfalls. Visit medieval Dunvegan Castle – seat of the Clan MacLeod for 800 years.

Day 7: Cairngorms National Park

Drive east to the vast Cairngorms National Park – Britain's largest national park, covering an area larger than Luxembourg. Red squirrel and red deer spotting. Visit Balmoral Castle – the Scottish residence of the Royal Family for over 150 years. Afternoon at Aviemore – explore the highland village and optional funicular railway to the high plateau.

Day 8: Black Isle & Cromarty Firth

Morning visit to Chanonry Point on the Black Isle – one of the best places in Europe to watch bottlenose dolphins from shore. Explore the beautifully preserved 17th-century port town of Cromarty. Afternoon at Fortrose Cathedral ruins on the shores of the Moray Firth. Whisky tasting at a local distillery in the evening.

Day 9: Inverness to Edinburgh

Scenic drive south through Highland Perthshire. Stop at the magnificent Stirling Castle – the childhood home of Mary Queen of Scots, perched dramatically on a volcanic crag above the Forth valley. Afternoon in Edinburgh's Old Town – explore the Royal Mile, peer into the closes (alleyways), and admire the skyline of one of Europe's most beautiful cities.

Day 10: Edinburgh & Departure

Final morning in Edinburgh – optional visit to the spectacular Edinburgh Castle to see the Scottish Crown Jewels, or walk up Arthur's Seat – an ancient volcanic plug giving panoramic city views. Transfer to Edinburgh Airport for your departure flight. Slàinte mhath!
